Pokemon Unite announced its most recent trio of new Pokémon in a single trailer at the Yokohama Pokemon World finals. The three Pokémon making their debut are the Hoenn Fire Starer Blaziken, the Pikachu Puppet, Mimikyu, and Scarlet and Violet’s Grass type sweeper, Meowscarada.

Blaziken was the first to launch, being added to the public servers on September 14th as an all rounder. Featuring a unique move set as a stance change character, it uses its Unite move as a combo tool rather than a big finishing sweeper. Mimikyu, unsurprisingly, launched alongside the Halloween event of October on the 19th. Like Blaziken, Mimikyu is a close range all rounder with high burst damage, and survivability due to its “Busted Form”.

But what about Meowscarada?

When does Meowscarada release?

The final of the three, Meowscarada is set to release on December 7th 2023, announced on the official Pokemon Unite X (formerly Twitter) account. It will, like Mimikyu, launch alongside seasonal holiday themed battes or those looking to try out the Speedster on a temporary pass.

We don’t know the full move set for the Pokemon yet. But the trailer shows off that at full evolution, the character will be tricky to pin down. Based on the targeting reticule, we know that one of their moves will be Sure Hit. This means as long as a valid target is in the aim, it will track. Even if the target moves outside the range after casting.

Coupled with a clone move that the Pokemon can freely switch with while its out. This Pokemon will be able to pull off solid hit and run gameplay, mirroring its VGC play style. This playstyle is quite common amongst other speedsters. Players will likely want to take Meowscarada to mid lane to be powerful sweepers!
