Just before the start of their series against Shopify Rebellion today, offlaner Ivan “MinD_ContRoL” Ivanov announced that he has been kicked from Tundra Esports.

The news came so suddenly that many believed it was a meme. But come match time, which was significantly delayed, Tundra were in fact playing with Vladislav “laise” Lais in the offlane position.

DreamLeague only just started..

While Dota 2 roster shuffles are very common, they don’t often happen in the middle of a tournament. DreamLeague season 22 only just began yesterday and although Tundra Esports didn’t have the best start, MinD_ContRoL’s performance reportedly had nothing to do with the decision to remove him from the roster.

Just before the start of the game, MinD_ContRoL took to X to confirm he wouldn’t be playing. The responses from talent, teams and players alike were surprised to say the least.

But it seems that all was not well in camp Tundra. In our interview, MinD_ContRoL confirmed that he joined the Tundra roster after playing in a tier 2 tournament with 9Class. They then joined Topson along with Whitemon, with Pure joining last of all.

“It’s not a complete friendship yet, but soon enough.”

MinD_ContRoL Leaves Tundra Esports

Following the tweet, MinD_ContRoL also spoke with Janne “gorgc” Stefanovski on his stream. At first, everything was looking up for the team. But he confirmed that there were 3 separate decisions that he didn’t agree with. They includedPure stealing the captain’s role, which he was OK with as long as they were winning.  He also wasn’t in favor of being forced to work with Moonmeander and adding Zai as a general manager.

Following a conversation with Tundra’s CEO yesterday, MinD_ContRoL issued an ultimatum because he didn’t feel good about the way the org was making decisions. Eventually, was removed from the roster.

It seems that MinD_ContRoL is going to be taking some time away from Dota to process the feelings and regroup.
