Skullgirls is one of the most unique titles that’s hung around as one of the top fighting games for quite a while. The game has longevity. It has received tons of updates and still gets played at a lot of the major tournaments as more characters get added. The title is getting a new dedicated tournament this December too. The Mix Majors Skullgirl tournament, a brand-new open event with an even bigger prize pool than normal.

A new tournament is getting organized featuring Skullgirls exclusively. The title even features a prize pool of $1,000. This is a new event following up an ongoing series. It’s being organized by one of the more prominent players in Skullgirls. Dekillsage, winner of EVO’s Skullgirls side event, is putting the tournament on. This is how it’ll all work.

The tournament is a new event for Skullgirls, but a follow-up to something that happens a bit more regularly. Dekillsage normally organizes events called Mix Masters. These are a 30-player weekly tournament. It’s a smaller event but an important part of Skullgirls fighting games esports. Each week players get to fight it out in Skullgirls. The Mix Major is a step up from this though. It’s being held to celebrate a new anniversary of this tournament series.

43 Mix Masters events have taken place so far, the new Mix Majors event will celebrate its upcoming milestone. Skullgirls doesn’t get too many tournaments on this level, so this new event is definitely one to watch for fans of the title.
