Activision has announced that any progression of your weapons, operator skins, and weapon blueprints from Modern Warfare 2 will carry over to this year’s Modern Warfare 3. We’ll explain how that works here.

Carry Forward System – What is it all about?

When Warzone transitioned to Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, there was a lot of controversy: No purchased cosmetic items carried over to the sequel.

Players could still use their items in multiplayer, but Free-To-Play players lost all access to items from their microtransactions from the previous two years.

After the announcement of MW3, the fear in the community was accordingly great that they would now also lose their purchased items from MW2. Activision has now eased this fear for players and announced a carry forward system.

The new carry forward system of Modern Warfare 3

Activision has confirmed that Modern Warfare 3 will have its own weapons and there will be its own set of content. In addition, however, players will still be able to use all the weapons, operators and more from MW2.

This means that players will be able to integrate their level up weapons and attachments as well as bundles, operators, skins, Battle Pass items and weapon blueprints into Modern Warfare 3.

The levels of your weapons are fully synchronized. That is, if you go back to MW2, the weapons will keep the level.

However, there are some exceptions. If the vehicle or item does not exist in Modern Warfare 3 for which the player has a skin, the level will not be transferred there.

Also, Wartracks and MW2 Operators that you unlocked through challenges in the campaign will only be available in MW2.

The new trailer for Modern Warfare 3 is here and it gives players hints of a comeback: the popular map Verdansk will return. But unfortunately not as hoped.

Will Modern Warfare 3 now bring us back Verdansk?

Warzone’s original Verdansk map was replaced by Caldera in 2021. Since then, the community has been begging for the return of the fan favorite.

Anticipation was accordingly high when Activision’s Alex Summers announced the return of Verdansk during a LegionFarm livestream on April 27, 2022.

But unfortunately, this only referred to certain platforms.

In addition, it did not return to Warzone 2, but was only confirmed for Warzone Mobile. An absolute disappointment for the community. That could now change.

Modern Warfare 3 Trailer – Info about the new Call of Duty

The new trailer for Modern Warfare 3 released on August 9 is a mix of gameplay and the upcoming campaign. In it, players also come across the Verdansk prison and stadium, hinting at the return of the map.

For example, the trailer shows how a plane crashes in the aforementioned stadium.

Besides Verdansk, Vladimir Makarov also appears in the new Call of Duty.

Markarov is the main antagonist of the Modern Warfare series. He actually died in the original MW3 and also in the campaign of MW Remastered. Nevertheless, the Russian genius is back and wants revenge.

The community has now gathered many different theories surrounding the return of Verdansk. Opinions vary on the extent to which the old familiar environment will return. Many players say that the map will only appear in the campaign. For single-player, that would be enough anticipation.

It remains to be seen in what way Verdansk will appear in Modern Warfare 3. Still, the few images have already hyped the community.
