It’s not where everyone thought the next leak would come from, but can you really predict that kind of thing? It was just hours ago that the Modern Warfare III logo and a promotional image showcasing the infamous Captain Price were leaked by a Monster Energy promotion. On promotional packaging, we see a digital campaign revealed, the branding and iconography uncovered in full, and imagery revealing a shady, mysterious character and a ‘crumbling’ Captain Price.

It looked darker than what we’re used to, with the colour palette having changed dramatically. It’s no longer the instantly-recognisable green hue taking centre-stage, but a deep, foreboding shade of red. It looks ominous, and that’s great – but we still have no idea when it’s being released, aside from what’s being suggested by the leaks.

Monster Mistake

It’s the image everyone wants, but it’s under fire.

In a post on Twitter from a user named ‘algebra_sloth’ (which has now been removed), the images of Monster Energy packaging and promotional cutouts were revealed. They showed a campaign of sorts, alluding to the suggestion that players will be earning in-game rewards in Modern Warfare III for consuming Monster Energy. It’s a fairly obvious campaign that has been repeated throughout history, and recently, the energy beverage brand became a lead sponsor of the Call of Duty League, so the ties are there.

Hilariously, Call of Duty’s social media team attempted to take advantage of the leak. They did the same thing with the last round of leaks that uncovered a string of information about the upcoming Call of Duty 2023 title:

It’s almost August and the next Call of Duty game hasn’t been officially revealed – but there are expectations that it’ll be uncovered any day now. It’s strange, as this is by far the latest in the year that the annual release has been revealed, and fans are now wondering if there’s something monumental that’s going to make the reveal worth waiting for.

Thanks to the Monster Energy leak, we know that Captain Price is assumedly taking the lead role, he’s being pressured by a shady, all-powerful enemy, and it’s a darker story that may see him literally crumble under the weight of it. Will this be the first Captain Price death in Call of Duty history?

When is Modern Warfare III Coming Out?

At the moment, we can’t say for sure when Modern Warfare III is coming out, but insider sources and leakers have claimed that it’ll drop in early November. There are also suggestions that a beta phase will go live in October, so players will be able to get their hands on the game around then.

What is for sure is that we’ll be covering all the Call of Duty news as it comes, so stay tuned to Esports.net!
