As the hype train gathers steam for Modern Warfare III, more announcements are coming through the news wire. Recently, Activision took to the main stage at Gamescom to reveal an all-new campaign gameplay video, showcasing the upcoming Call of Duty title in all its single-player glory. Then, following that snippet, the game’s beta dates were confirmed, letting players know when they’ll be able to get their hands on the upcoming game – for a short time, at least.

It was revealed that the MWIII beta will be coming to PlayStation first, which is typical for the series. It was also revealed that the limited-time offering will not feature any ‘carry over’ content from 2022’s Modern Warfare II, nor will progress be carried over into Modern Warfare III when it’s released on November 10th.

As the graphic says, the Early Access MWIII Beta will drop first on PlayStation from October 6th to the 7th. Then, there’s an Open Beta that’ll kick off on the 8th and run to the 10th of October. If you’re an Xbox or PC player, you’ll need to wait until Early Access begins on October 12th – or wait for the Open Beta that’s live across all platforms from October 14th. For the fortunate PlayStation gamers that pre-order the game, every beta window applies to them.

It hasn’t yet been stressed what’s coming with the MWIII beta, but if it’s anything like in previous games, we can assume it’ll be a fair offering. At the least, we’ll have a few maps, perhaps three or four game modes, and a fine selection of weapons to try out before the game’s full launch on November 10th.

COD NEXT is Confirmed

Hours ago, it was confirmed that Call of Duty NEXT, the epic showcase for the series, will be returning this year on October 5th. It lands just one day before the beta goes live, serving as a limited and exclusive event that will update the world on the future of Call of Duty. It’s where we’ll get our first look at Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III’s multiplayer, but we’ll likely also get news on the next iteration of Warzone and whatever is coming next for Call of Duty Mobile.

It’s also where we should see the future of the Call of Duty League unveiled, revealing what’s coming NEXT for COD’s top esports tournament.

MWIII’s Gameplay Looks Superb

During a ten-minute segment at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live showcase, the first campaign mission for Call of Duty was revealed. It made for a fantastic teaser, showing players just how gritty and intense the all-new story will be. In the gameplay reveal, we saw special forces soldiers storming what looks like a Gulag – but it’s actually the Prison POI from Verdansk. Here’s the video:

It looks and sounds superb, and it isn’t all that long until players get their hands on the game through the beta. Beyond that, there’s a brief wait until November 10th – and the game’s full release – comes around.
