It’s August, the weather is be…ginning and a few days ago the new Baldur’s Gate 3 was released. You’d think under these conditions you’d all be busy exploring the world of Faerûn.

For those of you who don’t like Baldur’s Gate, Steam has a couple of nice new releases this week, including a nifty building game set in feudal Japan and a German action role-playing game that sends you into the desert in a visually stunning way.

We show you what to expect from 7 to 13 August 

Highlights of the week:

Sengoku Dynasty

(Genre: Building Role-Playing Game – Developer: Superkami – Release: August 10, 2023 (Early Access)

If you’ve ever wanted to experience life in late medieval Japan, you’ll get plenty of opportunity in Sengoku Dynasty . In this mix of building and role-playing game from the Polish studio Superkami, you build a life during the Sengoku period; the time of the contending empires. However, you are not a nobleman fighting to rule Japan, but a simple farmer.

In Sengoku Dynasty, as is typical for the Dynasty series, You have to collect food to survive, build your own settlement and improve your character Later on, you will also have to try for your succession. All from either a first-person or shoulder perspective

As the only part of the series, Sengoku Dynasty offers a multiplayer modefrom the beginning, in addition to the solo campaign  Important: A final release date is not yet known; on 10 August, the game will go into public Early Access

Atlas Fallen

(Genre: Action Role-Playing Game – Developer: Deck13 – Release: August 10, 2023)

Atlas Fallen is the new action role-playing game from German developers and The Surge makers Deck 13. The fantasy game takes us into a world where humanity is oppressed by a merciless sun god who devours the planet’s energy.

With the help of a magic glove we can use sand magic and conjure up various weapons. Besides that, the garment also gives us insane locomotion abilities. But will that be enough to stand up to the sun god?

Atlas Fallen is supposed to offer more open areas than the developer’s previous games. The focus is also supposed to be on the single player campaign.

Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical: A musical game written by the lead writer of Dragon Age. Set in the world of the Greek gods, you must solve the murder of the last muse, Calliope

Tales & Tactics: In this squad-based autobattler with a tabletop RPG setting, you raise your army, equip and position units.

Friday, August 11

Space Mechanic Simulator: In this simulator, the name says it all: as a space mechanic, you repair all kinds of broken spaceships, satellites and machines in the weightlessness of space.

Garden of Banban 4: In this morbid survival game, you explore the backrooms of an abandoned kindergarten and must escape its creepy inhabitants.
