NRG’s Valorant team has confirmed significant changes to its roster for the upcoming 2024 season.
The announcement comes after the team’s early exit from the Valorant Champions 2023 tournament on August 13, leaving fans and analysts speculating about the organization’s future plans.

Both Sam “s0m” Oh and Pujan “FNS” Mehta, key players for NRG, have officially stepped down from the main roster as of August 28. The news broke during s0m’s live stream, where he stated:
“I’m not trolling, we’re not on the starting roster anymore. For now, during this offseason, [FNS] and I will be streaming, 12 hours a day, and if an opportunity comes, we’ll see.”
The changes mark the end of an era for the OpTic Gaming core, which evolved into the NRG roster we saw throughout 2023. If FNS were to join another team, it would signify the official dissolution of the original OpTic core. Last year, the core became free agents after OpTic wasn’t granted a franchise spot, eventually forming the NRG roster.
FNS and s0m are not just stepping down; they are also shifting to streaming roles within the organization. While their future in competitive Valorant remains uncertain, both players are open to new opportunities, either as a duo or individually.
We wont know the new NRG Valorant roster until later in the off-season. At this stage we will first find out all the free agents and then recieve last moment sign-in confirmations.
