Post Scriptum was already considered a failure, but now a roadmap for 2024 has suddenly been announced. What has happened there?
Does the name (Post Scriptum) ring a bell? Many will now answer: No! Don’t worry, because the multiplayer shooter was released in August 2018, but between all the Call of Dutys and Battlefields in the world, such small titles quickly get lost.
This almost proved to be Post Scriptum’s undoing. To be more precise, the game received more than just a nail in the coffin. After years of meagre player numbers, the CEO of developer Periscope Games even fired a large part of the development team at the end of 2022.
Now there is suddenly new hope for Post Scriptum. We explain what happened and what the future holds for the shooter – oh yes, and what Post Scriptum is all about.
New developer, new publisher, old home
We break it down: Game developer Offworld Industries (Squad) has officially announced that it has acquired the rights to Post Scriptum. Interesting: Post Scriptum is returning home, so to speak, as the WW2 shooter once started as a mod for Squad.
We’re thrilled to announce that Post Scriptum is joining the squad.
Exciting things are in the works with our partners at Mercury Arts and we can’t wait to share them with you in the near future. pic.twitter.com/9rpOZBGSxo

A new development team was also introduced: Instead of Periscope Games, Mercury Arts will be working on the multiplayer title in the future. And now that we’ve clarified these facts, let’s look to the future
A lot is set to happen in Post Scriptum in 2024. Only the what is not yet known, as an official roadmap for the shooter is yet to be released. But it doesn’t sound as if the new owner has no plans for Post Scriptum.
If you want to dive deeper into the topic, we recommend this YouTube video including an interview with the CEO of Offworld Industries:
What’s Post Scriptum actually about?
To finish off this message, here’s some background information for those of you who might be interested in the game. Post Scriptum is all about hard-as-nails realism. This not only means that the battles on the maps, some of which are several square kilometers in size, are rather leisurely than brutally fast as in CoD and Co.
This also means that from the weapons to the locations to the uniforms, value is placed on historical correctness So if you’ve always wanted to try out a new multiplayer shooter with up to 100 players per match, you can take a look at the (official website)
Are you interested in Post Scriptum? Or have you already played the historical multiplayer shooter? If so, we are of course very interested in your opinion of the game. Is this a real alternative to Call of Duty, Battlefield and the like? Or does the title quickly run out of ammunition? Let us know in the comments!
