It’s time for an all-new season in Rainbow Six Siege, and Ubisoft has prepared a stunner this time around. It’s Operation Deep Freeze (Y8S4), and it’s going to change the face of a lot of the game for a lot of the players, especially newer gamers just starting to get involved with Siege. There’s a new Operator that some may think is OP, a map that will give Defenders a hard time, and an all-new marketplace that’ll allow players to trade items on a peer-to-peer basis.

There’s plenty of content coming in Operation Deep Freeze, which launches globally on November 28. Until then, users will have a few more chances to unlock every possible from Operation Heavy Mettle, the ongoing season in Rainbow Six Siege. It’s a testament to the sticking power of Six Siege, knowing that it has been around for almost a decade but Ubisoft is still pouring resources into the game.

What’s Coming in Operation Deep Freeze?

A few changes are being lauded by Ubisoft, including grenade adjustments, controller remapping options, and a ‘Defender AI’ playlist that’s poised to replace THunt, putting players in the hot seat against a stack of AI-driven enemies. It’s supposed to mimic more casual, less stressful matches, and it’ll be a great way for inexperienced players to train. That’s a mission that’s being portrayed across the board – Ubisoft has actively adapted its ‘onboarding’ mechanics, to welcome new players into the game more effectively.

Operation Deep Freeze will also be getting a brand-new map, Lair. This map is unique and is based inside a dingy cave, tucked away from prying eyes. It’s a secret base that boasts plenty of advantages for Attackers — and a bigger challenge for Defenders. It features a rotation of four bomb sites and plenty of tight corners.

It has been argued that the jewel of Operation Deep Freeze comes in the form of the new Operator, a 2-2 Defender named Tubarao, a Portuguese character. He’s almost overpowered, toting his ‘Zoto Canister’ that can cling to most surfaces, instantly releasing a freezing, ice-like substance that deactivates almost any gadget, reveals footsteps through surfaces, and slows down or prevents almost any attack.

He boasts an MPx and an AR-15.50 for his primary weapons, both of which are capable, and his secondary comes in the form of a P226 MK 25. His Nitro Cell and Proximity Alarm gadgets only exist to add power to his already formidable arsenal.

When is Operation Deep Freeze Coming Out?

On November 28, Operation Deep Freeze will be pushed out to all platforms, giving players a chance to access all the fresh, hot content Ubisoft has provided.

For instance, it’ll allow users to get hands-on with the new marketplace, which is a never-before-seen concept. Through the marketplace, users can trade cosmetics and other items for credits. It’s a great way to make some in-game money for shipping off the items that you don’t want or need.

Until then, enjoy Operation Heavy Mettle.
