Palworld Mobile has appeared on the Apple App Store, with many players wondering if the title is coming to mobile. That is definitely not the case, and we have an a new scam on our hands.
Unless you have been living under a rock, you must have heard of the immensely popular open-world survival game, Palworld by Japanese indie studio Pocketpair. The game has surpassed all expectations and odds to become the most-played game on Steam, beating the likes of familiar titles like Counter-Strike and Dota.
Palworld is not coming to mobile
The Palworld listing on the Apple App Store was published by Oleksandra Kryccun, already making many players question its authenticity. It used used original in-game pictures of Palworld with likely photoshopped on-screen buttons. Furthermore, the fake game was expected to release on Feb. 4, 2024, according to the listing.
Palworld confirmed in a tweet, though, that the listing was fake and that there is no application for mobile phones. Furthermore, the company has no affiliation with these listings.
“We have reported this issue to Apple, which operates the App Store, and Google, which operates Google Play. Please be aware that downloading these apps may lead to the leakage of personal information stored on your smartphone or to fraud.”
All of the listings showed that the game was open for pre-registrations. This was likely done, though, to source personal data by creating a fake listing for a game that has been the talk of the town for the past month with its huge player count.
At the time of writing, it appears that both Google and Apple have acted on the fake Palworld Mobile applications. These fake apps have now been struck down.
