It was released on January 19, 2024, and it took the gaming world by storm, pulling in millions of players and beating all expectations with ease. It’s a wildfire title with plenty to offer and even more to come, but what’s the Palworld player count looking like as 2024 pushes on? How many people are playing Palworld right now?
Palworld’s developer, Pocket Pair, never expected the response that the game received. Despite being released on Game Pass, Palworld sold (at the time of writing) more than eight million copies within its first week on the market – paid copies. It topped sales and player charts around the world and became a fan-favourite on streaming and content creation platforms like Twitch and TikTok.
So, what does Palworld’s player count look like now?

Palworld is a viral game, that much is obvious. For some, it might be a ‘flash in the pan’, which means that it’ll be a shining star for a moment, but it’ll inevitably die away very quickly. Pocket Pair is determined not to let that happen, and within a week of the game being released, the firm showcased what’s coming next for Palworld. There’s a dense and persistent roadmap in store for Palworld, which as a live service, early access game, will be updated regularly to keep fans engaged.
It’s not entirely possible to get an accurate representation of the Palworld player count on Xbox platforms, unfortunately. That’s because that data isn’t made available to the public – but that’s not the end of the line when trying to work out how many people play Palworld.
For instance, we can get data from Steam – the platform on which almost ten million people have bought a copy of Palworld. Here’s a snapshot of the player count at the time of writing:
As you can see in the graph above, Palworld is on an upward trajectory with classic peaks and troughs determined by the time of day. It has a peak player count record that has exceeded every game ever released on Steam, except for PUBG, which holds the world record. It’s a staggering trend that is yet to slow down, making Palworld one of the most successful games ever released within a week of launch.
So, that’s the best snapshot we have of the Palworld player count. It’s expected that while there have been eight million sales on Steam, there are potentially twice as many players enjoying the game on Game Pass on an Xbox Series X|S or a PC.
