Like every other multiplayer game in the world, Rainbow Six Siege relies on servers located all around the world to support its competitive platform. They make the digital network that players connect to in order to actually play Rainbow Six Siege – and sometimes, they can have difficulties staying online. In this guide, we’ll be teaching you about the Rainbow Six Siege servers, telling you how to change servers manually and offering an insight into the status of those servers.

It doesn’t matter where you are in the world, there will be Rainbow Six Siege servers in place to get you connected to the game. There are many things to consider in this arena, though. For instance, the servers can be in tip-top shape, but if your own home internet is bad, you’ll not have a very good time in the game. If you’re also too far from the specific location where the servers are located (typically referred to as a node or a hub), then you’ll also suffer slightly.

How to Check Rainbow Six Siege Server Status

If you’re having difficulties connecting to or playing Rainbow Six Siege, one of the first things that you can do is check the server status for Rainbow Six. Fortunately, like most other games, Ubisoft hosts a server status page whereupon you can monitor the performance of these servers. It offers a breakdown by PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, and it uses a simple RAG (Red, Amber, Green) status to determine if there are any issues with the Rainbow Six Siege servers.

Here’s the link that you’ll need.

If there’s a really bad issue with the Rainbow Six Siege servers, then messages will be posted on Ubisoft’s social media channels. This is one of the best places to keep an eye open for alerts. Unfortunately, if there is a problem with the Rainbow Six Siege servers, then there’s absolutely nothing that you can do – it’s up to Ubisoft or a tech team somewhere to fix them.

How to Manually Change Rainbow Six Siege Servers

If you’re playing on PC, you can try changing your Rainbow Six Siege server manually – but it only works on PC. This is ideal if you’re experiencing an issue on one server and want to try connecting to another one, somewhere else in the world. Here’s the list of servers that you can connect to at any given point:

Australia East
Brazil South
Central US
East Asia
East US
Japan East
North Europe
South Africa North
South Central US
South East Asia
UAE North
West Europe
West US

There’s a full guide on the Ubisoft support page that details how to manually change the server in Rainbow Six Siege, but we’ll give the basic steps here:

Open the File Explorer.
Navigate to C:Users<User>DocumentsMy GamesRainbow Six – SiegeUbisoftConnectID.
Delete the folders and start the game from your account.

You should now see a single folder for your account containing a default GameSettings.ini file.

Right-click the GameSettings.ini file.
Choose Open with and select Notepad.
Scroll to the bottom of the document.

You will see “DataCenterHint=default”

Change default selection to the datacentre of your choosing.

For example: DataCenterHint=playfab/westeurope for West Europe

Save the file, then start the game.

That’s it – that’s how you change servers manually in Rainbow Six Siege.
