LoL Arena return date set for December 2023

Even though the Soul Fighter event has officially ended, players won’t have to wait long before jumping back into the Arena. According to Riot Games in their latest dev update, they confirmed LoL Arena is coming back in a few months’ time, with a tentative return date towards the end of the year, around early December.

Not only will the game mode be back, but it will also feature new augments, a wider meta, better champion diversity, and map adjustments. And most importantly, players will be able to set up private lobbies to enjoy the 2v2v2v2 action with more than just one friend. This was previously mentioned in one of Riot’s previous dev blogs about Arena.

Arena was one of the most enjoyed game modes in recent times

After the removal of the 3v3 Twisted Treeline, players have been wanting a game mode where they didn’t have to play in a team of five members. LoL Arena, with its 2v2v2v2 format, completely filled that gap, creating more explosive and fast-paced action, and allowing players’ individual skills to shine more.

Riot nailed it by making it a perfect game mode for those who want to grind and prove they are best, while also giving casual friends a new exciting way to play LoL. Considering its popularity shown on its first release, there are all the positive signs to have it return multiple times in the near future. And while there are players wanting Arena to become a permanent game mode, Riot mentioned they would need to see a “huge player response that sustains over time” in order to let it remain forever on the LoL client.
