The highly anticipated Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) Masters Series (BGMS) Season 2 faced an unexpected challenge during its Super Weekend 2 Day 3. Connectivity issues and consequent match delays have cast a shadow over the competitive spirit of the tournament. Renowned figures within the esports community, including Team SouL’s manager Siddhant “Sid” Joshi, S8UL Esports’ co-owner Lokesh “Goldy” Jain, and Global Esports’ CEO Rushindra Sinha, have stepped forward to voice their concerns. Additionally, as the issues persisted, multiple teams decided not to cooperate and instead chose to forfeit the third match of the day.

Sid shared a tweet detailing the struggles his Team SouL faced due to connectivity issues.As per Sid’s Tweet, the team had experienced 400 ping even before the match started, rendering them unable to loot or move freely within the game. The team contacted the admins to find a solution, but were soon eliminated by Team iNSANE, while grappling with connection problems. Sid further noted that the team entered the match with a positive and pumped mindset, but the high ping has left them frustrated.

In response to Sid’s Tweet, Goldy, the co-owner of Team SouL’s parent organization – S8UL Esports, highlighted the gravity of the situation. He advocated for the team’s well-being and suggested that if the problem persisted, the team should not hesitate to walk away “Walk out! No need to disguise the boys and yourself because of some Management,” he said.

Global Esports, another prominent participant in the tournament, also grappled with connectivity issues during the event. Rushindra Sinha, CEO of Global Esports, took to Twitter to address the dual challenges of device and network issues faced by his team. Furthermore, Sinha also shared that despite having an ample supply of healing items, the team met an untimely end due to the crippling ping issue. 

BGMS Season 2 Super Weekend 2 Day 3 Faces Match Delay and Forfeit

Adding to the dismay, the tournament’s second and third matches encountered delays, further disrupting the event’s rhythm and testing the patience of both participants and spectators. As the connectivity issues persisted, an unexpected turn of events unfolded when multiple teams decided not to cooperate and instead chose to forfeit the third match of the day. The casters announced that this last match will take place on the fourth day of Super Weekend 2.

Although the management did not reveal the specific reason behind these delays, it is reasonable to speculate that they may have resulted from ongoing connectivity issues, as the management likely endeavored to address the technical challenges.
