An excerpt from the latest patch notes shows: Skull and Bones’ worst bug is hopefully a thing of the past for good
You can probably recite it by now. Death mark expired. The helm has revoked your death mark. For now…
However, the annoying warning message is finally a thing of the past! For context: In the release version of Skull and Bones, a deathmark warning message constantly popped up on your screen without you having done anything or triggered anything. Restarting the game or changing locations could solve the problem temporarily, but never completely. Fortunately, Ubisoft reacted reasonably quickly here
We’ve known for a few days that the bug is at the top of the devs’ agenda, but today the update was finally installed. After about a

The entire death painting system has been temporarily deactivated until it can go online again. The patch also takes care of high-level pirate ships that were hunting you unscheduled, even though they were only supposed to spawn in smuggling missions. If you still encounter this bug, Ubisoft asks for feedback
Other issues that Ubisoft says will be addressed as soon as possible:
The text and voice chat should be fixed soon, it is currently disabled due to a bug.
Pre-order bonuses do not always arrive correctly in your mailbox.
The general stability and performance of the game will be further improved.
Ubisoft has also already accelerated the spawn rate of acacia trees – this was a really annoying farm in the early game, because other players like to snatch the acacia trees away from you and you then sail around in circles forever until you could complete the dinky starting quests. Believe us, we suffered through this live in the test
Skull and Bones is on the road to recovery. We don’t yet know exactly when the first season of the game with the fresh plague pirates will go online, but until then Ubisoft promises further patches and updates to prepare the pirate open world for it.
