Lordbound wants to keep you glued to your screen for a long time with tons of new content. The release is scheduled for the end of 2024

Update from February 5, 2 pm: We now have new information on the current status of the project, you can find it in the lower section of the message.

Original message: The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is a proud thirteen years old, has sold millions of copies and has been ported to pretty much every platform imaginable. So it’s no wonder that the role-playing game still has many fans who may be thirsty for new content

Lordbound could quench this thirst. Behind this is a fan-developed DLC that could easily rival official add-ons in terms of scope as soon as it is released.

Lots of new content

A look at the ModDB page of Lordbound reveals the large scale that the team of volunteer hobbyists is aiming for:

Locker 60 hours of playtime should offer Lordbound if you really want to discover and experience everything.

completely new region called Druadach Valley is waiting to be explored by you.

Over 40 new queststo be found in new towns, villages and the wilderness.

More than 50 dungeons with the most epic places you’ve ever explored – at least that’s what the team claims.

Fully voiced NPCs and a custom soundtrack.

The longest main quest in the history of Skyrim, which should also present you with tricky decisions with full-blown consequences. These include a family history, a campaign of conquest by the Imperial army and supporting the orcs in the defense of their homeland.

There are also two videos: One trailer shows you the new landscapes, the other the fresh dungeons.

What is the status of the project?

The above content may have already made your mouth water. But now we’re putting the brakes on the euphoria. Because the last update on ModDB dates back to April 2023, so it’s almost a year old.

The release is currently targeted for the end of 2024. We looked around on the Discord server and found a status message dated January 15, 2024. It states that the mod is currently in the bugfix and polishing phase and is aiming for a launch in 2024 late. However, this period is not set in stone.

If you don’t want to miss any news about Lordbound in the future, you can also check back on Discord or alternatively on X (formerly Twitter).

If you no longer play Skryim yourself, but still like to read funny stories from Skyrim, we have linked three reading tips in the box above. What do you think about Lordbound? Are you impressed by the two videos of landscapes and dungeons? Let us know in the comments!
