Smolder – LoL Abilities Rundown

Considering Smolder is a dragon, his kit is revolved around fire and the ability to spit flames. The cute creature will be an ADC with a great focus on its scaling potential, which can be seen by his stacks-based passive which has an interaction with his Q. While his kit doesn’t seem to be too hard to master, the champion will require great positioning like all marksmen. Below are his base stats and abilities.

Passive – Dragon Practice 

INNATE: Smolder’s damaging abilities against champions and minion or monster kills with Super Scorcher Breath Super Scorcher Breath grant him a stack of Dragon Practice.
DRAGON PRACTICE: For each stack, Smolder’s basic abilities deal bonus magic damage.

Q – Super Scorcher Breath

ACTIVE: Smolder sends a fireball in the target direction, dealing physical damage to the first enemy hit and applying on-hit effects at 100% effectiveness.
If this hits at least one enemy, Smolder generates a stack. Super Scorcher Breath is empowered with new effects based on the number of stacks collected.

25 stacks: The fireball explodes upon colliding with the first enemy or reaching maximum range, dealing physical damage to nearby enemies.
125 stacks: The fireball sends three additional projectiles upon colliding with the first enemy or reaching maximum range, dealing physical damage to enemies hit.
225 stacks: The initial target is dealt true damage based on their maximum health over 3 seconds. Enemies that drop below X% of their maximum health while burning are executed.
Cost: 23/26/29/32/35 mana
Cooldown: 6/5.5/5/4.5/4 seconds

W – Achooo!

ACTIVE: Smolder sneezes a fireball in the target direction that deals physical damage to enemies hit and slows them by X% for X seconds.
Damaging an enemy champion causes an explosion that deals physical damage to nearby enemies.

Cooldown: 14/13/12/11/10 seconds
Cast time: 0.35

E – Flap, Flap, Flap

ACTIVE: Smolder takes flight for 1.25 seconds, gaining the ability to enter terrain, bonus movement speed, and automatically performing up to X (+ X per X% critical strike chance) attacks over the duration against a visible enemy, prioritizing those with the lowest current health.

Cooldown: 24/22/20/18/16 seconds

R – MMOOOMMMM!

ACTIVE: Smolder calls out for his mom, causing her to breathe fire in the direction he is currently facing, dealing physical damage to all enemies hit and healing Smolder. Those caught in the center are dealt increased damage and slowed by X% for X seconds.

Cooldown: 120/110/100 seconds
Cast time: 0.75 seconds

Since we still haven’t gotten the numbers on his abilities, it’s tough to judge how strong the kit looks. Nonetheless, the champion should be able to reward mechanically gifted players with exceptional positioning while making it accessible to newcomers.
