At the latest State of Play, Sony showed off new trailers for upcoming blockbusters and even announced a release date or two.

At the State of Play, publisher Sony regularly presents what’s new for the most important games on PlayStation. Yesterday it was that time again, among other things we were allowed to see numerous new trailers, and there was also a release date for Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth. We have summarized all the important trailers and news for you here.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

There was a new trailer for the new Spider-Man game starring Peter Parker and Miles Morales, showing off the open world, which is even bigger than its predecessor. The developers also explain how quests, abilities, upgrades and gadgets work. They also promise over 65 suits for the heroes of Spider-Man 2, which are either taken from comics and movies or are new designs.

Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth

Now we also finally know exactly when Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth will continue the remake trilogy of Part 7 that began in 2020: Starting on February 29, 2024 fans will initially only be able to experience the continuation of the story on Playstation 5. You can also check out the new over three-minute trailer that shows how Cloud and his friends will continue after escaping the city of Midgar.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

Ubisoft’s big open-world game set in the world of James Cameron’s blue aliens once again shows off the stunning landscapes of the alien planet in a new trailer. There’s also a look at the story of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and the traumatic past of your character, who was raised by humans but actually belongs to the Na’vi.

Ghostrunner 2

The first Ghostrunner already won over critics and gamers alike with its gritty cyberpunk scenario and, above all, fast and deadly gameplay. The successor, unadorned Ghostrunner 2 called, you can now try as a free demo, both on the PlayStation, as well as on Steam. The game will be released on October 26

Resident Evil 4 Remake Addon

This is fast: with a trailer, the remake of Resident Evil 4 announces the next expansion, which was also included in the original. And Separate Ways will be released in about a week, on September 21 for all available platforms. On the same day, there will also be a free update for The Mercenaries game mode.

Tales of Arise Addon

And another expansion: The role-playing game Tales of Arise will also get new content this year. On November 9, Beyond the Dawn, an addon that continues the story of the main game, will be released, and quite surprisingly. Actually, the developers had emphasized several times that they didn’t want to release any expansions.

More new trailers and announcements

In addition to the big blockbusters, a few smaller games were also shown with new trailers, namely:

Helldivers 2: From the co-op shooter there is new gameplay showing the fight against a giant alien monster.

Honkai Star Rail: The role-playing game announces its release on the PlayStation 5 in new trailer October 11.
