What is Supraland?

Supraland is actually a sandbox. You puzzle your way through the game world as a miniature character in the first-person perspective, which is at least visually reminiscent of Grounded . In terms of content, Supraland has nothing in common with the survival game.

In addition to the puzzles, you also have to fight enemies in melee and ranged combat. By acquiring additional skills, you can open up new areas in the sandbox.

A DLC was even planned for the game, which has since become a game in its own right:

The game is the brainchild of German solo developer David Münnich, who says he was inspired by Zelda, Metroid and Portal We have summarized how this is reflected in the game for you here:

Scope: You should need between twelve and 25 hours to complete the game. In addition to the main tasks, there are also many optional puzzles. It is a single-player game only.

Story: This is, as the developer himself describes it, minimal and only serves to give the player a task.

Game world: You are in a sandbox and are barely bigger than a battery. You gradually unlock new areas.

Puzzles: One of the most important game elements are the platforming and physics puzzles. As the game progresses, you will gain additional skills for new approaches to the puzzles.

Battles: In good first-person shooter style, you shoot at skeleton warriors and other enemies. You can improve your character and your weapons with various upgrades.

Discovery: New abilities and upgrades are hidden in treasure chests that you can find in the world. There are also merchants who sell upgrades.

For whom is Supraland suitable? If you like to rack your brains a little on puzzles and enjoy finding new paths through a game world, Supraland might be worth a look.

One more controversy surrounding the developer must be mentioned. The developer is said to have held some questionable medical views in the past. In our test, however, we could not detect any influences in the game.

Will you be checking out the sandbox in Supraland and testing the free demo? What other puzzle games can you recommend to other players? Feel free to write your opinion in the comments.
