XDefiant starts tonight in a short, free beta. Here’s how to test Ubisoft’s CoD rival for a few hours
Are you up for the chance to try out a new shooter for free? Then we have something for you: Ubisoft’s multiplayer shooter XDefiant is planning another beta this evening, which will be surprisingly short. We have the most important info for you:
When will the beta take place? It starts tonight at 9 pm German time. After just six hours it’s already over and at 3am the servers go offline.
Which platform can you participate on? This is a pure PC beta. Registration is not necessary, you can download the XDefiant Public Test Session directly via Uplay.
Is there a preload? You can download the beta ready in advance on Uplay. The download size is about 31 GB.
What content does the beta offer? Included is the already known content from the preseason. For the beta, all weapons and essays are directly unlocked.
When will XDefiant be released?
The release was originally planned for the summer of 2023. In early September (the developers) came forward with a postponement. The new release timeframe is late September to mid-October 2023.
So the short beta could be a final test run for the release coming in the already near future.
Strong competition
Whether Ubisoft is doing itself a favor with all this, however, is questionable. Because already on the first October weekend starts Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 in the first beta. In total, there are four important dates for CoD fans.
In addition, Counter-Strike 2 officially launched on the evening of September 27 and accessible to all players for free. Friends of first-person shooters will soon be spoiled for choice.
Ubisoft sends the new game into the race against two real shooter giants. Do you really think XDefiant is Ubisoft’s CoD killer? How will the game fare in the face of competition from Modern Warfare 3 and Counter-Strike 2? Will you play these two genre giants or are you waiting for a completely different multiplayer shooter? Feel free to write us your opinion in the comments.
