The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Professional League (MPL) for the MENA region is set to get even bigger. The biggest esports organization in Saudi Arabia, and one of the largest in the Middle East, Team Falcons, is entering the league.

Muhammed Al Mutairi from Team Falcons stated:

“We believe that the quality of MPL MENA is paramount in shaping the future of esports in the region. With our unwavering commitment to excellence, we’ll strive to elevate the competition to new heights, setting a standard that inspires players and fans alike. Team Falcons brings not only unmatched skill and dedication, but also a deep understanding of the game and its community. We aim to create an environment where talent flourishes, teamwork prevails, and unforgettable moments are made. Our ambitions extend beyond victory; we seek to leave a lasting legacy, fostering growth and nurturing the next generation of esports champions.”

Why is Team Falcons’ entry in the MPL MENA a big deal?

The MPL MENA was established in 2022 as the top flight of competitive MLBB in the region. While the game has been able to become extremely popular in SEA, it has failed to leave an impression in other regions. MOONTON has been trying to change this over the past year and a half with new tournaments in North America, MENA, and Turkey as well.

So far, three seasons of the MPL MENA have happened so far – with modest viewership numbers. All three seasons had a peak viewership of less than 8,000, with the viewership actually falling in the latest season, per Esports Charts. This left a question mark on MOONTON’s ability to grow the game in a new region.

Team Falcons’ entry, however, will come as a commitment to the potential of the game and its future in the Arabia region. The org is the biggest one in the region with a huge fan base and rosters across Fortnite, Call of Duty, PUBG, Rocket League, and PUBG Mobile.

Team Falcons have received a direct invite to the MPL MENA Fall 2022. The team is yet to unveil its roster, though.
