With just a few days before the start of the LEC Spring Split, Team Heretics is announcing major roster changes to its LoL roster.
Team Heretics – swapping two players ahead of LEC Spring
The announcement came earlier today, with Heretics’ co-founder and Chief Gaming Arnau Vidal as well as the LoL General Manager Alvar Araneae through a video posted on X.
Vidal announced that veteran mid laner Perkz will be replaced by rookie Zwyroo for the upcoming Spring Split. On top of that, support player Kaiser will be swapped by former Fnatic support Trymbi, who will be jumping on Summoner’s Rift after taking a break during the Winter Split.
After ending on a great note last season, Team Heretics was hoping to ride that wave of enthusiasm by bringing in the former G2 trio of Wunder, Jankos, and Perkz. By keeping star player Flakked and pairing it up with a veteran like Kaiser, TH was hoping to fight for the top half of the standings. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen, as the team only ended with a 4-5 record and were eliminated early into playoffs.
While Trymbi was initially the only planned change, Vidal explained that Perkz and the rest of the team weren’t improving in terms of the dynamic heading into the new split, thus forcing the management to make the swap. According to Sheep Esports, a dispute between Perkz and the Team Heretics manager happened, which meant that there was internal friction.
Zwyroo steps in
Perkz will be replaced by Zwyroo, a known presence in the ERL circuit. The player has been playing on Team Heretics Academy in the past two years, but never got the chance to prove his worth on the LEC stage. He will now get one, even though the situation doesn’t seem optimal at all.
Together with his compatriot Trymbi, the two will step on the LEC stage on Saturday, March 9, when the second split of the season begins.
