After the release of the gigantic fan mod, the team wants to follow in big footsteps and really get going with professional game development
The ambitious fan mod Fallout: London will be released in just a few months on April 23, 2024. That’s when End Times fans can pack their bags and fly across the pond for the first time in the popular role-playing game series – at least unofficially.
But what comes after that? An expansion? A new Fallout mod? The team behind Fallout: London has now spoken about its future plans in an interview with Dualshockers. Apparently they want to follow in big footsteps
From modding team to ambitious game developer
Team FOLON, as the creative minds behind Fallout: London call themselves, is largely made up of casual modders who work on it as a hobby in their spare time, despite its professional appearance
However, this is set to change in the future. As project manager Dean Prilladog Carter confirms in the interview linked above, Team FOLON is now a registered company. They have plans to move on to something new in the future In other words: The team wants to become a proper game studio.
A great role model is also named by Dean Carter: The Forgotten City
They said to themselves: We clearly have something good Then they set up as Modern Storyteller and released the game, which was fantastically well received. These are the people I’d like to emulate
The Forgotten City once started as a mod for Skyrim before the team professionalized under the name Modern Storyteller and released the title (on Steam) as a standalone game.
What kind of game Team FOLON wants to tackle after the completion of Fallout: London, Dean Carter does not yet reveal. The team is currently concentrating all its efforts on bringing the British end-time spectacle to the fans.
In the course of future planning, he also has some bad news for fans of the mod: no further content is planned for Fallout: London after the release. But don’t worry, the role-playing game should have more than enough content to offer!
Are you looking forward to Fallout: London? Will you be playing the giant mod right from the release in April or will you wait and see if there are any major bugs? Do you think it’s great that modding teams keep maturing into full-fledged game studios? Are there any other Fallout mods you’re looking forward to? Let us know your answers in the comments below:
