The Finals is recording fantastic player numbers, but is struggling with a well-known problem in the shooter scene – cheaters
The Finals is currently exceeding all expectations and is putting a grin on the developers’ faces thanks to its fantastic player numbers. However, like every popular online game, this new shooter also has to contend with a well-known problem.
Where there is light…
Without a doubt, there is currently no way around the surprise hit The Finals in the online shooter world. In just two weeks, an incredible 10 million players have thrown themselves into the fray and blown the destructible maps to smithereens
While the (average player numbers) have fallen somewhat since the initial hype, they can still easily keep up with genre giants such as Call of Duty on the PC.
To all you 10 million contestants (!) who have entered the arena since launch – a huge THANK YOU!

Expectations for The Finals are high in line with the high player numbers and many are hoping to finally have an equal competitor to Warzone, Fortnite and co. on the horizon, which will stimulate business and lead to more innovation in established games.
Unfortunately, a well-known problem is dampening the euphoria and bringing many players back down to earth.
..is also shadow
Although the new star in the shooter firmament is currently doing pretty much everything right that can be done right, The Finals is plagued by a problem that is now a major issue in almost every online FPS – cheaters.
There are now hundreds, if not thousands, of videos on YouTube showing hackers in action, while the community takes to (social media) to vent their frustrations.
Many are already saying that cheaters have a firm grip on the game and that The Finals is therefore doomed. Meanwhile, the developers are making every effort to get the problem under control.
However, Embark Studios reportedly had “technical issues” that prevented them from banning cheaters. According to their own statements, however, they are currently working towards a solution and are endeavoring to keep the game “smooth, safe and fair”.
It remains to be hoped that those responsible will quickly get to grips with the situation and ban the cheating players. The Finals would not be the first promising shooter to disappear into oblivion due to cheaters
