G2, what are you doing? It’s been rumor after rumor for the team, who seem to have finally settled on a CS2 roster that no one could’ve expected even a month ago. We’re taking a look at everything that’s gone on at the team, amidst tons of drama of late.
NiKo Out?
NiKo to Falcons was a ‘done deal’ according to leakers – until it wasn’t. The first major CS2 roster rumor put his future at Falcons, where he seemed set to secure the bag. There were even hints that m0NESY would join him as a package deal, making the Saudi Arabian roster a true superteam.
Him staying was a statement of intent from G2, and rumors began to swirl about the roster’s future even further.
nexa In?
After NiKo confirmed his intention to remain at G2, nexa became the next name touted for the team. He previously IGL’ed for them a few years ago, but an underwhelming stint with OG meant it was a move that made little sense on the surface. This was compounded by the rumor indicating that jks would be the player making way – one of the best support players in the world.
The situation was only made more complicated when NiKo found himself embroiled in a Twitter spat with leaker OverDrive. While it was a mess, NiKo’s tweets implied we probably won’t see nexa back at G2 any time soon…
G2 CS2 Roster Confirmed
This brings us to today. G2 have confirmed that the rumors are correct – nexa is back, and jks is moved to the bench with immediate effect. Unless there are financial reasons behind the deal (which has allowed them to re-sign NiKo), it’s hard to see a world in which this makes sense for the team.
G2 finally won trophies in 2023, and jks was a huge part of that. You have to feel for him. It remains to be seen if G2 are finished with roster moves. Could HooXi be making way? It’ll only get more interesting now nexa is confirmed.
