The new Crafter block is now playable in the new snapshot 23w42a and opens up endless possibilities.
Minecraft has once again proven its innovative power: With the newly introduced Crafter Block in the upcoming version 1.21, crafting in the game will be taken to a new level. This new feature was showcased during the Minecraft Live 2023 event and promises to revolutionize the way you craft items in the game.
The best part: You can now try out the Crafter Block in the latest snapshot build!
How the Crafter Block works in Minecraft
This is what the Crafter Block can do:Similar to a workbench, the Crafter Block has a user interface where crafting blueprints can be set. To use the Crafter Block, it must be activated with Redstone. Once active, the block will pick up items placed in its crafting grid and automatically craft the target item.
A Touch of Factorio: A particularly useful feature of the Crafter Block is its interaction with other Redstone machines. For example, Hoppers and Droppers can be used to transfer items into the Crafter, opening up endless possibilities
Example: For example, you can now build a fully automated farm much easier. Building a farm that produces dried seaweed blocks, for example, was also possible before, but it was very laborious.
You can see how complicated such a farm currently works in the following video:
With the Crafter Block, it is now possible to skip some of the steps, making the construction of a farm massively easier.
But of course that’s not all. If you wire the droppers and hoppers cleverly, you can also have complex items such as plant trains, weapons or other more complicated recipes produced automatically, for which various raw materials must be combined.
How can I try the new block now? If you want to experiment with the new tool, you need the Java version of Minecraft. Here you just need to download snapshot 23w42a by activating snapshots in the tab Installations
