The developers of Hunt: Showdown have finally announced the release date of the latest Hunt event. We have summarised the most important changes for you
It should be ready Today!. As announced by Crytek’s Hunt developers on Twitter, the new event “Tide of Shadows” will be launched on Wednesday, June 28 at 13:00 in the popular Extraction shooter . At the same time, the next update 1. 13 is also to be rolled out on the servers.
Official patch notes for this are not yet available, but from the latest teasers and social media posts from the developers, quite a lot of content can already be gleaned. In addition, Crytek released a short teaser a few days ago that shows some of the most important contents of the upcoming update package.
Lightning and Thunder
The most significant innovation from a gameplay standpoint is the rain that will pelt the swamps of the bayou as a new wildcard weather condition during the event. During a thunderstorm, our sight and hearing range will be lowered; so the rain will make entirely new plays possible and allow for near silent movement
On top of that, the rain also looks just damn beautiful. On Twitter, the developers published a video that demonstrates the full duration of a thunderstorm over 30 minutes. The atmospheric change between continuous rain and fog gives the game a whole new creepy atmosphere.
Tide of Shadows is right around the corner, along with the new Wildcard Condition, Thundershower.
We can’t wait for you to experience it, but as there are a few more days to go, here are 30 minutes of uninterrupted video of the rain for you to enjoy.HuntShowdown pic.twitter.com/9i7BtQisfT

See you later, alligator
Also new is the event boss Rotjaw; a giant crocodile that roams the swamps of the bayou. The beast is always hungry and uses its powerful jaws to maul any unwary hunter who gets too close.
At the beginning of the round, Rotjaw is said to be trapped in a cage. However, once he reaches a certain level, the boss can free himself. Like the other bosses, Rotjaw is said to switch to a rage mode when he is wounded.
What else is new?
Of course, the update also brings some new weapons. Confirmed so far are:
Drilling: A rifle with three barrels. Two for normal ammunition, one for shot.
Lemat Mark II Uppermat: LeMat variant that shoots large ammunition like the Uppercut revolver. Cannot be fired in fan mode.
Railroad Hammer: New melee weapon similar to the sledgehammer.
Winfield 1893 Slate Riposte: A Winfield, only with bayonet. This frees up the knife slot.
Besides that, with Tide of Shadows, portable medikits and toolboxes will probably find their way into the game. These will be necessary as the new boss can move around the map, but will also allow for new PvP opportunities.
Also confirmed are at least three new hunters On the other hand, there is still speculation about a return of the popular oaths known from the previous event, a new type of ammunition for the explosive lance as well as a fire bolt for the hand crossbow.
