The Apex Legends community witnessed the ban of its top-ranked player, Facilitatur.

This decision came shortly after a significant public outcry, with many accusing the player of using wall-hacks to gain an unfair advantage.

An official tweet from Respawn, makers of Apex Legends, stated:

“After thorough investigation and data review, our anti-cheat team issued a number of bans today. Cheating will not be tolerated.”

Facilitatur gets banned from Apex Legends

It was captured live, with an opponent witnessing Facilitatur’s character turning into a death box after being defeated. The game’s kill feed also showcased a new notification, indicating a player’s removal due to cheating or other security reasons.

Community Notes at the Ready

Interestingly, the race to the top of the Apex Predator leaderboard has become more competitive this season, following adjustments to the game’s ranking system. With Facilitatur’s exit, ALGS player and former Complexity member, Daniel “Luxford” Castellano, has taken the lead. He is closely followed by other professional players, Zach Mazer and Chase “Shooby” Vasquez.

Apex Legends Status highlighted the ban, noting the disappearance of Facilitatur’s accounts from the ranked leaderboards. His account badge was also altered, displaying a Master rank badge instead of the coveted Predator. This change is in line with Apex Legends’ policy, where banned Apex Predators are automatically demoted to Master rank.

The community hopes that the competition for the top spot remains fair and just. The recent ban has certainly garnered support from many Apex fans, who believe in a level playing field.
