The VALORANT Challengers Japan will be a one-of-a-kind event. To qualify for the tournament, each team had to be a part of an open qualifier. This was played between Jan. 22 and 24 this year. These open qualifiers were double-bracket events with the winner of the grand final securing a spot in the VCT Challengers Japan Split 1.

The Challengers Japan Split 1 2024 will have two stages: the league and the group stage. The league stage of the tournament will be taking place from Feb. 3 to March 10. This is a single round-robin format with each team facing each other in a best-of-three series.
The top two teams from the league stage will qualify for the upper bracket final in the playoffs. Teams that are ranked between third to sixth will be playing in the lower bracket quarterfinals.
The VALORANT Challengers Japan Split 1 2024 playoffs stage will happen from March 12 to 31. The lower bracket final and grand final will be played offline, raising the stakes even higher for the players and organizations. The winning team will receive a prize of ¥2,000,000 ($13,479), while the top four will make it split two.
