The world of Valorant is buzzing with anticipation for the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ). It’s set to be played on the latest patch Patch 7.00, but we wont get to see Deadlock in pro play. The much-talked-about new agent, will be sidelined for the qualifying event, as confirmed by Riot Games.

Teams participating in the Game Changers series however, will still have the option to include the new sentinel in their line-ups.

Countdown to Champs

The countdown to the 2023 VCT Champions has begun. Scheduled to take place in Los Angeles a month from now has teams already prepping their strats and doing scrims.

Before the grand celebration in August, pro teams worldwide will have one more shot at securing their spot in the tournament at the LCQ.

Despite Deadlock’s absence, teams will have to adapt to the various changes introduced in the recent updates. One of the most impactful changes that could potentially alter the competitive meta is the recent nerf to ammo reserves. The Vandal and Phantom have lost an entire magazine in Patch 6.11, which could lead to less spamming through smoke, a strategy widely used by professionals at Masters.

The VCT Last Chance Qualifiers are set to kick off in America and Pacific on Saturday, July 15. As the teams prepare for the challenge, the new patch’s influence on the gameplay remains to be seen.
