VCT Masters Madrid will be taking place from March 14- 24. The eight best teams from each of the four VALORANT regions are already making their way to Spain for the tournament. Here are our power rankings and predictions ahead of the start!

VCT Masters Madrid Power Rankings

Before we get into the full power rankings, check out our highlight of the three teams you should definitely watch at this event.

Now, let’s head into the full rankings..

1. Paper Rex

Paper Rex is the majority favorite to win VCT Masters Madrid going in. This team had a spectacular 2023, ending it by coming second during VCT Champions 2023.

The core of the team is almost the same with the addition of Monyet this year. Remember though that they did lose the VCT Pacific Kickoff Grand Final. In most tournaments, we have seen Paper Rex come second and this year, we believe that they will win their first Masters Trophy.

2. Sentinels

Seeing Sentinels back on the international stage feels like a wave of nostalgia for most VALORANT fans. The last time they won an international event was VCT: Stage 2 Masters – Reykjavík, which was nearly 3 years ago.

Tenz is now in the controller role proving his dominance on Omen with johnqt being the ideal IGL for this team. If the core of zekken, Sacy, and Tenz keep up the firepower, there is a good possibility to see Sentinels lift another Masters Trophy.

3. Karmine Corp

Karmine Corp does feel like the dark horse of this event. Their run to win the VCT EMEA Kickoff was nothing short of incredible. They currently consist of the old guard in Magnum and a new core of Marteen, N4RRATE & tomaszy.

This team has the perfect blend of youth and experience with an incredible coach in Engh. It must be stated that most of this team was previously in the VALORANT Challengers League last year. Let’s see if they can keep up the expectations!

4. LOUD

LOUD is historically one of the most consistent VALORANT teams. Their 2023 wasn’t as successful as they would have hoped, but they are still one of the fiercest teams one can meet at a Major event. Similar to Paper Rex, they lost their star duelist in Aspas and added in qck to their roster. Having Finished 2nd in VCT Americas Kickoff, there is quite a chip on their shoulder to prove why they are still one of the best in the world.

They won the VCT Americas League in 2023, and finished 3rd in VCT Champions 2023. It’s time to boost those numbers up with a win at VCT Masters Madrid.

5. EDward Gaming

Since their arrival into the international VALORANT scene, EDward Gaming has been a breath of fresh air. The star duelist in ZmjjKK lit the VALORANT ecosystem in a blaze after his incredible arrival.

Last year, the team finished in 5th position in both VALORANT Champions 2023 & VCT 2023: Masters Tokyo. This year they have already won VCT China Kickoff and are one of the few teams who have taken part in previous international events of VALORANT.

6. Team Heretics

Team Heretics might be the reason many will start to believe nepotism is real in VALORANT. The brothers in Miniboo and Boo have been terrorizing the EMEA scene with their incredible performance. Until the Grand Final of the VCT EMEA Kickoff, they hadn’t lost a single map in the tournament.

Team Heretics has the home field advantage due in Madrid. Only time will tell if they can use this to make it past the Swiss stage of the event.

7. Gen.G Esports

Seeing Gen.G in 7th might be confusing for VALORANT Pacific fans but hear us out.

T3xture and Meteor have proved themselves to be some of the best Korean players in the world. Other than EDward Gaming, this is the only team to consist of 5 players from the same country. This year, they did win VCT 2024: Pacific Kickoff but last year, they finished 4th in VCT 2023: Pacific League. GenG will face LOUD in their first match in Madrid so it won’t be an easy start for them.

8. FunPlus Phoenix

FunPlus Phoenix has a real mountain to climb during this tournament. They are one of the few orgs entering this tournament as previous VCT Masters winners. Their current roster consists of some of the best young talent in China. An interesting point to note is that Kale “autumn” Dunne is the first player from the Oceania region to secure a post in an international VALORANT tournament (excluding the all-invited VCT LOCK//IN).

It remains to be seen if the Chinese iteration of the roster lives up to former glory.
