Popular Indian esports organization Velocity Gaming has parted ways with its Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) roster. This surprising announcement comes on the heels of Velocity Gaming’s lackluster performance in the highly anticipated Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2023. The team’s earlier achievements had raised high expectations, making their early exit from BGIS 2023 all the more surprising.

Velocity Gaming announced its BGMI roster in June, featuring a few of the prominent players from the country. It included the following players: 

  • Ashutosh “Punkk” Singh 
  • Harsh “IMMORTAL” Shrivastava
  • A1mbot
  • Octavius
  • Samir “Kratos” Choubey

Following a promising performance in BGMS Season 2, the team entered BGIS 2023 with unwavering confidence. However, their journey took an unexpected turn as they failed to secure a spot in the semi finals and ultimately got eliminated from the Losers Bracket. Despite this setback, it’s worth noting that Velocity Gaming had achieved an impressive third place in BGMS 2023 Season 2.

Additionally, following their elimination from BGIS 2023 and a few days before the team’s release, the team’s in-game leader (IGL) Punkk spoke about his future plans with the team. He emphasized the need for dedicated and high-performing players. Additionally, he also hinted at possible changes coming to the game.
