A new shop bundle splits the community. After dogs and rats, now cats are making Warzone 2 unsafe.

Call of Duty and especially Warzone has been bombarded with all kinds of crazy and sometimes annoying skins in recent years, ranging from Attack on Titan to Rambo and John McClane to even a dog skin. The latest skin is no less curious and once again divides the community.

Sgt. Streusel reporting for duty

After the collaboration between Call of Duty and The Boys franchise in Season 4 Reloaded, it made perfect sense what operator skin we needed next in Warzone 2 – cats. You read that right, after we were already allowed to mark our territory with a dog skin in Warzone 1, its fluffy lazy counterpart now follows in Warzone 2.

While Homelander, Starlight and Black Noir are already wreaking havoc on Al Mazrah, Vondel and Ashika Island, more and more players are coming across the new cat skin, which is available in the shop for 2400 CoD points.

The Whisker Tango Bundle contains two different variants of the meowing mouse catchers, which differ in fur and eye colour.

In addition to all kinds of other cosmetic items and improvements, the bundle also contains an integrated self-resurrection kit for the DMZ. Many players are therefore once again accusing the developers of offering Pay2Win skins in Warzone 2.

Whether the self-resurrection is an allusion to the alleged seven or, in English-speaking countries, nine lives of a cat remains a matter of speculation.

By the way, Gustavo “Gus” Rodriguez, who, when he’s not cleaning his fur or attacking his owners without any warning while they’re petting him, actually works for a Costa Rican special forces unit, was used for the Skins.

Is this still CoD?

While some players are celebrating the skins, many within the community, meanwhile, are once again wondering if this is still their Call of Duty or if the popular shooter hasn’t already taken the exit towards Fortnite clambake.

Even though we can now finally play cat and mouse with the rat skin that is currently free for Twitch Prime members and was already released in May, large parts of the gaming community fear that Call of Duty is moving further and further away from its origins and becoming a Fortnite 2.0.
(Back in May, the newly introduced rat skin caused a lot of headwind from the community.)

In the social media, opinions differ. While some players complain about the four-legged friends with a weakness for laptops and keyboards and call for more realism in Call of Duty, others can’t get enough of the purring kitties.

Especially Reddit users seem to have taken the house cats to their hearts, who even temporarily (mutate into laser cats).

Presumably it’s only a matter of time before the developers decide to release another controversial skin in Call of Duty.

After rats, dogs and cats, why not a really funny animal like the grotto olm, a platypus or the naked mole rat, which looks more like a scrotum with teeth than an animal, but would certainly be a big seller.
