Call of Duty’s Battle Royale is getting another big new map. We have all the info on the release time, download and more.
A big change is coming soon for Call of Duty: Warzone A new, large Battle Royale map is on the way! It’s called Urzikstan and overturns a lot of what Al-Mazrah has brought to the game. The most important information can be found right here:
Release and time: Urzikstan will be released on December 6th at 18:00, at the same time as Season 1 of Modern Warfare 3.
Preload: You can download the big update before the release, but so far this is only possible on PC via Battle.net. The size of the download is about 40 gigabytes

Setting: What kind of map is Urzikstan?
Urzikstan is a fictional country in the CoD universe that you already know from Modern Warfare (2019). It is located in West Asia on the coast of the Black Sea and is the home of resistance fighter Farah Karim. The map of the same name consists of a large city and the surrounding area.
You will also be traveling in Urzikstan in the campaign, but only in parts. As usual, you will also discover some of the multiplayer maps in the large BR map – CoD is sticking to the tried and tested concept.
Optically, the whole thing is reminiscent of Verdansk, especially the buildings and the moderate color scheme. It remains to be seen whether it will play as well as the classic Warzone map from the past. The battle royale is definitely changing significantly, which is why some fans are already talking about Warzone 3
Changes: What runs differently on the map than before?
Gulag: This is where you end up if you have been shot down in a match. In a 1-on-1 fight against another fallen player, you have the chance to fight your way back, the winner jumps off over Urzikstan again.
This time, there are no AI opponents and no team battles in the Gulag, instead the classic three lanes again. However, there is also a version where you end up in the gulag at night and have to use your night vision goggles. This is a random event and should occur relatively rarely, but it makes the rounds a bit more varied
(In the Gulag, 1v1 applies again.)
Movement: Call fo Duty: Warzone adopts the revised movement from Modern Warfare 3. For example, slide canceling is possible again.
UI: The Ui is also based on Modern Warfare 3. From release, there will once again be a mini-map with red dots that show enemies in your surroundings
Faster action: The speed of the deadly circle, which is getting smaller and smaller, is to be adjusted. According to the developers, it is hoped that this will lead to more action faster than before
Drivable train: As in Verdansk, there is a train on the map. This time, however, you can take over the train yourself to stop it, reverse it or drive it forwards. As there is a purchasing station on it, among other things, it could become a valuable base for your team – but it will be fiercely contested
Loot in color: The rarity level of your weapons is now marked in color as before. This makes it easier for you to recognize what is worth picking up and what you can leave behind. Custom weapons get a special color

Battle Royale (large version on Urzikstan, small version on Vondel)
Resurgence (with respawns, on Vondel and Ashika Island)
Plunder (with respawns and collecting money, on Urzikstan)
2024 two popular maps are also set to return: Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep. Resurgence was previously played on these maps, and this is likely to be the case again this time.

So far, eleven important points of interest on Urzikstan have been described in more detail. However, there will be other smaller places that you can see on the map.
Levin Resort: A once popular, now abandoned vacation hotel.
Popov Power: A nuclear power plant whose second cooling tower is still under construction.
Zaravan City: The large city in the south of Urzikstan.
Shahin Manor: A spacious estate near the city.
Low Town: A small village with poor, run-down houses.
Orlov Military Base: A well-fortified military base with missile silos.
Hadiqa Farms: A farm with large fields and a few smaller buildings.
Zaravan Suburbs: The outskirts of the city, not quite as densely built-up as the center.
Old Town: The old town, consisting of historic buildings and medieval fortifications.
Seaport District: A fishing harbor with many industrial buildings.
Urzikstan Cargo: Here container ships are unloaded with huge cranes.

The luxurious Levin Resort, a former vacation resort with pools and stores, sounds particularly exciting. Or the military base with its bunkers, which is located in the mountains and should be easy to defend.
What happens to the old Al-Mazrah map?
Urzikstan replaces Al-Mazrah as the big Battle Royale map. You will no longer be able to play on the desert map, it will move to the map graveyard like Verdansk and Caldera.
(The desert map is sent to the desert.)
But the smaller maps from Modern Warfare 2 will remain: Two days after the release, Ahika Island and Vondel will be available in Resurgence mode. Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep are also set to return at some point in 2024 and will presumably be available alternately with the other maps.
