The studio behind the mega-success Palworld has published a small roadmap of upcoming features
Palworld is currently breaking all boundaries on Steam and is being played millions of times. However, the survival game with the Pokémon-like companions is still in Early Access and is therefore far from being fully developed.
In a small update, the development studio Pocketpair has now unveiled a current roadmap that gives an outlook on the next development steps and, above all, which specific features the team is trying to implement in the game soon.
This is the roadmap for Palworld
But let’s get straight to what it actually says. The roadmap is not particularly long and gives hardly any indication of when it will all be released – but it does provide a small preview
Fix critical bugs
The highest priority at the moment is all sorts of serious problems that still exist in the game. These include a few really annoying bugs that can also lead to loss of progress or make multiplayer impossible, for example. There are also reports of players getting stuck in loading screens
Important improvements
The team is also working on important optimizations to improve the gaming experience. According to the developers, this primarily includes the button configuration. But the AI of the various Pals and their pathfinding also urgently needs to be improved, as they get stuck on structures far too often
Planned features
Finally, new features are planned for the game during Early Access that will give you completely new possibilities. These include a few eagerly awaited new features, such as the ability to compete against other players or their Pals. But of course there are also lots of new Pals, islands and bosses. The following new features are planned:
PvP
Raid bosses (end-game content)
Pal Arena (PvP for Pals)
Steam-Xbox Crossplay
Various Xbox feature improvements
Server transfers and migration
Improvements to the build system
New islands, pals, bosses and technologies
No mention in the roadmap of the trading feature for Pals, which was mentioned (a few days ago). Perhaps it was simply forgotten or does not currently have the highest priority in the team
When is all this coming?
Pocketpair does not give exact dates for the various improvements. What is certain is that fixing critical bugs and initial optimizations are most likely more important and can therefore be expected before any new features are added to the game.
The roadmap also refers to the complete Early Access It is therefore quite possible that many new features will not appear for several months. On the Steam page, the team says that Early Access will last for at least a year, so an extension cannot be ruled out. So exercise patience
