Who is Princess Peach? The Mushroom Kingdom Princess has been a key part of the world of Mario for quite some time. First appearing in the 1985 Mario Bros, the character plays a key role in each game’s set-up. Over the nearly 40-year Mario franchise run, Peach has gotten involved in go-karting, sports, even had a few platformers of her own. Along with playing a major role in movie adaptations.

Princess Peach is a major character in the Mario series, having been a key part of the series since its first instalment. Although some non-Mario Bros game used Pauline in the same role, Princess Peach has become a much more prominent part of the world of Mario. The game was originally localized as Princess Toadstool. Although, she has been named Peach for some time now. The character has even shown up in some free Mario games like Super Mario Run.
In the series, Peach typically gets captured by Bowser and has to be rescued by Mario, setting us up for a game’s worth of traversal and platforming. More recently, Peach has had a more active role in games. She’s gotten involved in the platforming too. She’s appeared in pretty much all Mario spin-offs being such a central character to the game. Even getting a baby version in some games. She’s actually clocked up so many appearances in different games that she has the most out of any female character!
Peach might technically be a human, but she’s also the ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom. This role got expanded quite a bit in the recent Super Mario Bros video game movie tie in.
Peach has gotten her own games on a few occasions. Most recently, Princess Peach Showtime! However, we’ve also seen her in a lead role in Super Princess Peach and as a Smash Bros character.

Her castle seems to change in appearance in different games, but it’s clear this is where Peach lives.
